DWH KFS Decision Support JIRA Tasks - Status Chart

Prior Two Week Activity

Completed
  • Cognos Report Stats:
    • Number Cognos Reports to be developed for Phase I: 15
    • Number of Phase I Cognos Reports developed (pending testing): 11
    • Remaining Phase I Reports to be developed: 4
    • Total Reports to be developed (all phases): 38
  • New Cognos package (v3) published which now includes Capital Assets and KIM roles/groups fields
  • Balance job is completed and loading without errors. Balance totals have not been verified.
  • PURAP fact table problems have been resolved, and tables have been populated
  • Updated Decision Support channel on snaptest to add the Fund Summary & Transaction Reports, changed other report links to production server
  • Rsmart consultant's access is set up, and she is currently analyzing KBM tables needed to build Cognos framework and reports
  • Added KFS fields to Payroll Expense query on data warehouse development server, currently testing
  • Updated and fixed feeder systems report per request from feeder systems developers and end-users

In Progress
  • Work with new Rsmart consultant to build Cognos framework, develop KBM reports (Ken, Susie)
  • Indexing tables to help improve report performance
  • Building ODS for the KBM reports (student/Anh)
  • Update KFS Cognos package to re-name all fields per Focus Group's request, along with additional cleanup
  • Consultant is working on scripts to automate validation of balances
  • Document and provide data warehouse team the list of fund groups needed to add to the database for FS0150 style reports (business analyst/focus group)
  • Enhancement to DWH BOToolkit to allow calls to new KFS web services (student) - initial coding complete, now in code review
  • Adding KFS fields to DWH queries, Employee and Ledger Details (student)
  • Prototyping of prompt pages for Cognos reports (student)
  • Scripts to add KFS attributes to legacy data warehouse (employee, payroll, fs). Coding is complete - currently testing every night for pps daily and every pps month-end. (Grace)
  • Conversion of KFS data into legacy tables for use by Payroll Certification and legacy DWH (Grace)
  • Development of scripts to migrate open receivables transactions from legacy DWH to KFS DWH (Anh)

Data Warehouse Support

DWH is operating well as usual, Grace is acting as primary DWH production support. 
Upgrade to Java 7 - Testing in progress.
Payroll Certification - Data extraction, pulling documentation together to provide to NSF/HHS for the HHS audit.

Next two week planned activities and deliverables

  • Continue making bug fixes to ETL scripts and testing
  • Performance tuning on the database
  • Continue report development for highest priority reports
  • Build KBM ODS (operational data store)
  • Build data warehouse tables in production server for KFS, move Cognos reports to point to production database
