Prior Two Week Activity

• Cognos Report Stats:
  
  • Number Cognos Reports to be developed for Phase I: 38
  • Number of Phase I Cognos Reports Completed: 14
  • Remaining Phase I Reports to be developed: 24
• Focus group is suspending meetings until August, due to fiscal closing
• Attended Cognos Higher Ed User Group meeting
• Met to discuss concerns with object codes as revenue accounts in KFS - I believe most of the user's concerns have been addressed at this point
• Student developed prototypes of color schemes for prompt pages in KFS
  
  

In Progress

• Reports that are completed will be sent to General Accounting for approval. We will not be able to get a final approval until balances have been fixed and verified. Victor and Jason are working on coming up with proper names for these reports.
• Valerie is working with Jason and Victor to prioritize the reports list. 
• Upgrading TalenD jobs to newer version on the production server (Valerie/Anh) - We are currently experiencing issues with Talend on our UNIX server. At this point I think we might need to continue using Talend on Windows if this isn't resolved in the next week.
• Re-architecting of PURAP fact table (Tammy)
• Build Cognos framework to allow building of reports for KFS reconciliation process (Tammy)
• Document and provide data warehouse team the list of fund groups needed to add to the database for FS0150 style reports (business analyst/focus group)
• Enhancement to DWH BOToolkit to allow calls to new KFS web services (student)
• Prototyping of prompt pages for Cognos reports (student)
• Cognos browser compatibility testing (student)
• Scripts to add KFS attributes to legacy data warehouse (employee, payroll, fs). Coding is complete - currently testing each time COA is re-loaded. (Grace)
• Continue updating up the account dimension job per recent schema changes in data warehouse tables (current change in progress is related to Award/Fund data conversion changes) (Anh)
• Development of scripts to migrate open receivables transactions from legacy DWH to KFS DWH (Anh)

Data Warehouse Support

• Continue making bug fixes to ETL scripts and testing
• Continue working on approval for high priority reports
• Plans for Cognos portal/user experience for Cognos (SNAP) - will work with focus group on this project
• Continue report development for highest priority reports
• Students will continue to develop KFS look-up reports and prompt pages in Cognos

Production support trends in terms of tickets either in JIRA or Footprints.  

Staffing issues or personnel related matters

The students were out most of last week due to finals, and some are taking this week off. There is a strong possibility that we are losing yet another student to an internship this summer, which means we will be down one Cognos report developer.

We plan to upgrade to SQL Server 2012 on our development server, but there are concerns this might cause some setbacks for the KFS Decision Support project.
