The application itself contains information related to a potential hire's background check result that may be sensitive and data must be retained for a 5 year period. Both Human Resources and Police Department rely on this application to complete the hiring process. Lately its instability has become a great concern to both IT support and the users. 

OIT is proposing Case Manager as a potential replacement solution as it offers a more robust and secure environment. Functional users are agreeable to this proposal.

This complete project would include fit/gap analysis of requirements vs. Tririga Functionality, Development, Testing, Documentation and training across all these groups. 

Since this time line will not work with our existing Projects8i installation due to it being unsupported and on Windows Server 2003 we would like to move the existing data into IBM 10. 
We would like an analysis on the effort involved to retire the current Projects8i and bring it into IBM 10.

I've attached some information on this new military benefit below from Nancy Coolidge at UCOP that was previously sent to VA certifying officials and Registrars. The new benefit was signed into law last summer and gave public universities until July 1, 2015 to comply. 

Students eligible for Section 702 will receive a waiver of all nonresident tuition, despite their nonresident status. 

The following categories will need their own separate waivers to correspond with their respective nonresident tuition amounts: a) undergrad, b) grad c) professional school students and d) law students.

Courseleaf CIM to Registrar SIS interface
02-25-2015 19:00:34Enrollent ServicesThe Registrar's Office has purchased and implemented the CourseLeaf Curriculum (CIM) system from a vendor called Leepfrog (http://www.leepfrog.com/courseleaf/curriculum/). This online workflow system is used to manage all the courses that are offered at UCI. New courses and changes to existing courses must be submitted into the system and approved by various groups on campus before it can be taught. For example, courses must be approved by the department offering the course, the Registrar's Office, and the Academic Senate. 

The previous course curriculum system, CASPER, is an old vendor application written in a language called AREV and it currently runs from Windows 95 VMs on Registrar staff PCs. The system did not have a workflow component; all course approvals were previously handled through a paper process and then manually entered into CASPER by the Registrar staff. Once courses were entered into Casper, a "drainer" program running on a Windows 95 PC would export the data and write it into the Cobol MUCK file. The MUCK file is the master course file used by the Registrar SIS. 

Currently, Registrar staff still manually enter course data into CASPER. Instead of going off of paper forms, they pull up the data online from CIM. Leepfrog has created a data feed that contains all currently approved courses in the CIM system. We need to create an interface to take the daily text file and load the course information to the MUCK file.
