Urgency is the measure of business criticality of an Incident. The urgency reflects the time available to resolve the incident before the impact is felt by the business.

  • No viable workaround
  • Caller indicates “emergency”
  • High financial or reputation risk or implications

Service Degraded

  • Complex workaround
  • Medium financial or reputation risk or implications

3

Interferes with Work

  • Complex workaround
  • Intermittent
  • Workaround is disruptive or risky
  • Low financial or reputation risk or implications

4

Tasks More Difficult

  • Easy workaround
  • Failover in place
  • Not service disrupting (yet)
