DWH KFS Decision Support JIRA Tasks - Status Chart

 

Prior Two Week Activity

Kuali Financial System

Completed
  • Finalization and Review of PURAP models
  • Org Structure Assignment. Determine reprots to for eliminated orgs approx 400
  • Write ETL Staging jobs for PUR_* tables
  • Write ETL scripts for staging AR, AP, KREW tables
  • Develop Talend job to load Document Details dimension
  • Develop Talend job to load Doc Type dimension
  • Develop Talend job to load Project dimension
  • Develop Talend script to load origin dimension
  • Development for web service to retrieve all accounts by Org and all Org children. This will aide applications using KSR and KFS hierarchy for authorization.
  • Scripts to add KFS attributes to the Internal Directory (people database) for Administrative LDAP - currently being tested
In Progress
  • Develop Talend job to load Time dimension (adding fiscal periods to existing time dimension)
  • ETL specs for GL balances (mostly complete, final meeting with Accounting tomorrow)
  • Development of ETL to load GL balance table (waiting on final specs, mostly complete)
  • Development of ETL Staging jobs for all UCI_* tables
  • Scripts to add KFS attributes to legacy data warehouse (employee, payroll). Coding is complete - currently testing each time COA is re-loaded.
  • Create a business process document to address old and new procedure for ad hoc querying within KFS and ad hoc querying within DWH
  • Prioritize All current FS reports according to definite time lines
  • Requirements specification for the KFS equivalent of the FS0100 part 2 (Ledger Detail Report)
  • Report Specs for capital asset module reports
  • Began documenting requirements for Accounts Payable and PURAP modules
  • Set up logic to determine eliminated reports to orgs with new budget office org structure worksheet. Jason is currently working on this for Accounting.

 

Payroll Certification

Accounting just sent the results from the first round of testing this morning. Tammy will follow up on this and make any necessary modifications or bug fixes.

 

Data Warehouse Support

DWH is operating well as usual, Grace is acting as primary DWH production support
Completed Tasks:
  • Query for Chancellor's Christmas Cards
  • Changes to custom query to retrieve employees for the Library
  • Changes to custom query to retrieve employees for EROS system

 

Next two week planned activities and deliverables

  • Development of ETL specs for Capital Asset tables
  • Development of ETL jobs for Capital Asset staging and dimension tables
  • Development of Capital Asset framework in Cognos
  • Final review of the PURAP data model
  • Finalize reporting requirements for Accounts Payable and PURAP modules
  • Update DWH database schemas based on recent database 'clean-up' work done in KFS

 

Production support trends in terms of tickets either in JIRA or Footprints.

Staffing issues or personnel related matters

Katherine Gallardo is returning to Engineering full-time, but will still lead the campus work group for KFS Decision Support
Kevin Chung has joined the KFS Decision Support team as a business analyst/trainer. He will assist Jason Jensen with report development and requirements gathering.

 

Budget requests for any new software or hardware

Put in a request for DB solo licenses which was approved
