Note:  Steps in Part A and B are can be set up by Cognos help desk.

 

A.Create Cognos Query Using Report View

 

Step 1: Select and Execute Report

 

Step 2:  Select Query Parameters

 

Step 3: Run Report

 

Step 4: Save Report as View (in any folder, including My Folders)

 

B. Set up Saved Query

 

Step 1: Use properties settings of the view to change query parameters

Step 2: Set Default Action and Parameters for the Saved Query

 

Click Run to save criteria

 

Step 3:  Review and Save Query

Click Ok to save

 

 

C. Run Save Queries

Step 1: Run query

Step 2: Change the Fiscal Month parameter to Jan - 2016

Step 3: Review and run Save queries with new Fiscal Month

 

D. Same process/steps applied to Pro version of the Query

The parameters in each tab  will be saved with the query

Step 4: Populate Crosstab

Step 5: Add Filter

Step 9: Open XLS, connect to Cognos....repeat

Bug:  Query Subject in folder does not work (Account, Org...cannot be used)
