- set up access to OIR SQL SERVER ssoir and ssboir and databases dbdwh and dbload crosschecking with the spread sheet dump from Durendal below.
- filled up short and long description using OIR data dictionary.
- filled up dim- spreadsheet data based on OIR_Out.xlsx and cross reference with SQL SERVER database dbdwh.
- the completed spread sheet OIR metadata combined.xlsx.
Lesson Lessons learnt:
- descriptions were not stored in databases, they all came from OIR data dictionary, as a result, there are quite a few attributes without descriptions.
- Cognos model data types generated from the dimensional-physical data model-to-Cognos model transformation.
- remove filters in the spreadsheet before upload, otherwise, it kept the filters in the attachment and creates confusion.
