Frequently Asked Questions
When I accept meetings in Outlook/Exchange Calendar, it deletes my meeting request in my inbox. How can I keep meeting requests in my inbox?
Click the File tab, then Options, and then select Mail.
Under the Send messages heading, make sure the Delete meeting requests and notifications from Inbox after responding checkbox is not selected.
Click the OK button to close the dialog box.

What happens to meetings when an account is deleted?
Other people's calendars are not affected by account deletion; they will look the same before and after an account is deleted. Any meetings where the organizer's account has been deleted become impossible to modify automatically. They can be individually deleted one at a time in each calendar where they appear.
If you know in advance that a person is leaving and that their account will be deleted, it is recommended that you take note of all meetings in their calendar, then have them cancel all meetings they have created, then have the meetings re-created by the new meeting organizer.
Meetings created directly in a resource or a shared calendar (i.e. the resource is the meeting organizer) will work the same after the account is deleted, and can still be modified by a delegate for the resource (i.e. Editor privilege or higher).

How can I check shared calendars from a mobile device (iPad, iPhone, iOS, etc), i.e. in the "Light version of OWA"?
Folders in OWA can be accessed using special URL parameters.
Once the correct URL is discovered, the user can bookmark this in their browser so they can quickly access it the next time.
Note that this is NOT a hack/security risk - proper authentication is still required, and you can only view folders that you have been granted access to.
Scenario 1: "UserAsst" has Full mailbox access to "UserMgr" (this could be another resource too)
If "UserAsst" has Full mailbox access to "UserMgr", then "UserAsst" can use the following URL to access "UserMgr's" mailbox, using "UserAsst's" credentials. It is important to note that "UserMgr" does not have to give up his/her username/password.
https://exchange.uci.edu/owa/<email address of "UserMgr">
For example: https://exchange.uci.edu/owa/UserMgr@exchange.uci.edu
Scenario 2: "UserAsst" has access ONLY to the Calendar of "UserMgr" (this could be another resource too)
If "UserAsst" has access to ONLY the calendar of "UserMgr", then "UserAsst" can use the following URL to access "UserMgr's" calendar using "UserAsst's" credentials. It is important to note that "UserMgr" does not have to give up his/her username/password for this.
https://exchange.uci.edu/owa/<email address of "UserMgr">/?cmd=contents&module=calendar
For example: https://exchange.uci.edu/owa/UserMgr@exchange.uci.edu/?cmd=contents&module=calendar
