The Secure Research Environment is currently a pilot project run by OIT. The information presented here may change dramatically during the pilot phase.
Description
The SRE is a secure computing and storage resource offered to campus research units; it is designed to handle the needs of researchers working with "restricted" and/or "sensitive" data that requires a higher level of protection. Access to the environment is restricted, and the environment itself is segregated into distinct areas giving each research team their own space to work in. All user logins require two-factor authentication. All transmission of data into and out of the environment is encrypted and logged. All records and logs are subject to campus audit.
