GUIDE STATUS: DRAFT

Overview

There are many records, such as contracts, that usually have supporting documentation to augment form information that is entered in ServiceNow. Luckily, ServiceNow allows users to attach documents directly to a record. Follow the instructions below to attach documentation to a SN record.

Attach Documents to a Record

  1. Navigate to the record that needs supporting documentation attached. In this example, a project record is used.

  2. Click the attachment icon at the top of the content frame.

  3. Click the Choose file button in the dialog box that appears.

  4. Using your system's file navigator, select a file to attach and click Open.

  5. After your upload is done, the document is attached to the record. To rename the document, follow the Rename an Attached Document guide, and to remove an attached document, take a look at the Remove an Attached Document guide.
  6. Close the attachment management dialog box by clicking the X in the upper right-hand corner.

  7. You should see your document attached at the top of the content frame.
