Let’s say you have an image used in many places on your website that you need to update. You may be tempted to upload the new image and then update each place the current image is used to point to the new image. After you do that, you’d need to publish your new image and republish all the affected pages.

There’s an easier way! The method described above will work, but it involved involves unnecessary steps and potentially leaves an unused image just hanging out in Cascade.

Note

This method only works as described if the name of the file in question is left unchanged. If you do need to change the name of the file, you will need to do that after submitting your edit. You’ll then need to republish the file and the pages where the file is referenced. Even in this case, you’re still saving a good number of steps!
