Many Data Definitions contain groups of fields that can be proliferated / repeated / multiplied to suit your content needs. These groups can be identified by the plus button in the group title bar.

This button is labeled for screen readers as Add new group.

For example, a Data Definition may include a field group for defining a link. Need more than one link? Click the plus button and Cascade creates an additional link group for you below the current one.

When new groups are created, additional buttons will appear in the group title bar.

Reordering groups

Use the up- and down-arrow buttons to reorder your groups.

Cascade handles links differently depending on how the link destination type.

Internal links point to assets within Cascade and are defined using asset choosers.

Note

While Cascade may allow you to select an asset in a different Cascade site, doing so is not recommended. Use external / URL links in these cases for best results.

Some special benefits of using internal / asset links are:

  • If you move the destination asset, Cascade will follow it and update any links to it automatically (republishing required).

  • You can determine which assets link to a particular asset by using the Relationships feature.
