Purpose
To describe the web-browser configuration steps necessary to manage pop-up windows in the following well known web-browser: IE-8 1 (Microsoft), FireFox 2 (Opensource), Safari 3 (Apple), and Chrome 2 (Google) running on either Window O/S computers or Apple Mac computers.
1 Microsoft Windows O/S only.
2 Microsoft Windows O/S, Apple Mac OS/X, and various Unix and Linux O/S based computers.
3 Microsoft Windows O/S and Apple Mac OS/X.
Introduction
Each of these well known web-browsers: IE-8 (Microsoft), FireFox (Opensource), Safari (Apple), and Chrome (Google) provides easy to understand pop-up window management to ensure a high level of end-user satisfaction. In order to provide the end-user with a functionally useful, and pleasant web-browser experience while viewing web content and/or using web based applications, web-browser allow end-users to configure the web-browser's pop-up behavior.
The blocking of pop-up windows is a standard feature for these web-browsers: IE-8 (Microsoft), FireFox (Opensource), Safari (Apple), and Chrome (Google) in order to prevent significant loss of functionality as a result of either malicious website behavior or web application programming errors.
