Enable Internet Explorer 10 Compatibility Mode

Internet Explorer 10 

By default, Internet Explorer 10 does not run in compatibility mode. Running Internet Explorer 10 on Windows 7 or Windows 8 requires the compatibility mode to be set. If it is not set, the page may just continue to spin without the page ever loading.

To enable the compatibility mode for Internet Explorer 10, follow these steps:

Windows 7


  1. From the Desktop launch Internet Explorer 10.
  2. In the Address Bar, select the compatibility mode icon. (Located next to the refresh icon)

 

Windows 7 (Alternative Way)

 

  1. From the Desktop launch Internet Explorer 10.
  2. Press the Alt key on your keyboard to bring up the top menu.

  3. Go to Tools | Compatibility View settings.
  4. Either
    • Add uci.edu to the Compatibility View Websites
      or
    • Select Display all websites in Compatibility View

 

Windows 8

  1. From the Windows 8 start screen, select the Desktop.


  2. Then follow one of the steps from above.
