Statement of Scope

The goal of this system is to allow the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences to access Payroll, Personnel, and Account/Fund data  specific to the department from two main sources; the UCI Data warehouse  and the Department’s own dataset that maintains further information not maintained by Data warehouse.  This system will also allow views and reporting from the two systems and generate reports. 

This project will streamline processes and reduce the potential for errors / omissions by making this information more readily accessible, as providing smaller set of data to be maintained  by Pharmaceutical Sciences staff.

For this version of the system (v1.0.0) the views and reporting will be limited to a set of data initially represented by the worksheets provided by the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences. 

The system will consist of the following features:

1. A web interface
   1. Input screens for the Department representatives
   2. Only accessed by specific Department Personnel
   3. Views of the current data and provided reports
   4. A report interface.
2. Database for the department of Pharmaceutical Sciences Meta Data
   1. Data fields specified by worksheets provided by the department
   2. Data will be maintained by the Department
3. Data Interface for Data warehouse data
   1. Canned queries
   2. Currently limited to dataset provided
   3. Data will be maintained by  OIT-A
   4. Interface will be maintained by OIT-A
      
4. Reports
   1. Access through the web interface
   2. Output via screen or excel versions
   3. Current set of reports will be maintained by OIT-A
