The following are the Sophos-suggested minimum installation requirements:

  1. Services Required -- Started and set to "Automatic"
    • COMPUTER BROWSER
    • REMOTE REGISTRY
    • SERVER
    • TASK SCHEDULER
    • WINDOWS INSTALLER
    • WORKSTATION
  2. Administrative Share -- C$ -- Must be available to SOPHOS0.AD.UCI.EDU
  3. Simple File and Print Option -- Turned "OFF" in Windows Explorer at the bottom of the options list
  4. File and Print Sharing for Microsoft -- Turned "ON" in the Local Area Connection Properties / Networking Tab
  5. Windows Firewall
    1. Print and File Sharing -- Ports 135, 137, 139 (Sophos also suggests 136, 138, 80 and 445)
    2. Sophos Ports -- Ports 8192 - 8194
