Entering Project Information in ServiceNow

Entering Project Information in ServiceNow

Once the decision has been made to initiate a project, the project information should be entered in ServiceNow even if the project is not yet fully defined. Having project information in a place where it can be shared by all stakeholders will facilitate discussions about the project and eliminate the possibility of multiple versions of the information. Use the following guidelines when entering project information.

New Project Proposals

When entering new project proposals there are only a few fields that are required but it is best to provide as much information as possible in order to assist in the evaluation of the project requirements.

Project Maintenance Form Field Definitions

The following table lists the fields that appear on the default Project maintenance form in ServiceNow. The fields are listed in alphabetical order by field name and not in the order they appear on the project maintenance form. If the form you are presented with in ServiceNow does not include all the fields listed here then make sure you are using the view named Default view.

The New column indicates whether an entry is required in the field when entering new projects while the In Process column identifies required fields for projects that are under way.
