Important information about the functionality of this desktop workstation
When you log into the device, a temporary profile is created based on your UCInetID
At logoff, your temporary profile will be deleted
This is also true of you use the “Guest” account
NOTE: To prevent loss of data, save your work before logging out of the device
Logging Into the Desktop with your UCInetID and Office 365 Password
At login screen:
For Email Address: UCInetID@ad.uci.edu
Password: Your Office 365 Password
If you log on as guest and the screen locks, leave the password blank to unlock
Go to Office 365 at UCI page to learn more about Office 365. Go here to Create your Microsoft account and click to Activate your Office 365 account.
NOTE: The benefit of logging in with your personal account is that you have access to your 0ffice 365 license and files, including OneDrive
Connecting to Apporto
NOTE: Apporto is a virtual computer lab service that allows you to run specialized instructional and classroom software in a web browser.
Connect to https://uci.apporto.com/ through a web browser
Click on the Logon button to sign in using your University of California, Irvine account
Launch the UCI Lab Desktop 2023 application

Language Options
Adding a Langauge Keyboard
Select the Start > Settings > Time & language > Language & region.
Select the language that has the keyboard you want, then select Options.
Select Add a keyboard and choose the keyboard you want to add. If you don't see the keyboard you want, you may have to add a new language to get additional options. If this is the case, go on to step 4.
Return to the Language settings page, go to Preferred languages, then select Add a language.
Choose the language you want to use from the list, then select Next.
Review any language features you want to set up or install, and select Install.
Close Settings
Using the IME
Select the Start > Settings > > Time & language > Typing
Click on Advanced Keyboard Settings
Use the desktop language bar when it's available
Close settings
