To start a new report from a template, report studio must be launched first. To do so, click on the "Launch" button in the top right of the page. In the drop down menu, select "Report Studio."

Once the "Report Studio" is launched, you must select a package. A template is not able to store a default package.

When prompted, select "Create New" report. This will prompt another dialogue box asking what kind of report you would like to open. Here, select "Existing...".

After selecting "Existing..." you will be prompted to select which existing report you would like to use. Our Templates will be located in a hidden folder at Public Folders ‎> Kuali Financial System ‎> Internal ‎> Templates‬. If not already there, navigate to the correct folder and select which template you would like to use.

The Prompt Page is set up for 4 small prompts and 4 bigger, select and search prompts. The first 3 of the smaller prompts are default for Fiscal Year, Fiscal Period, and Chart Code. The header for the report has the logo with the seal on the right, the report title in the center, and the old title of the report on the right, if necessary. There are HTML tags scattered throughout the page. The one above the prompt box is to change the default settings of the select and search box and the tag below is to close it. The 2 tags in the prompt box are to expand the select and search prompts, if necessary. The prompt should go between the 2 tags. The tag at the bottom of the page in the footer is the clear button.

Default queries are set up for the 3 prompts that are to be used most often; Fiscal Year, Fiscal Period and Chart Code.

The View Criteria page is set up to have the title of the prompts in the left column with the value of those prompts on the right.

List Report

The KFS List Report Template will have a "header" with the logo on the left, a spot in the middle for the Report Title and page info on the right. The data items just need to be added into the list. Any other formatting will be done once the report is complete.
