A campus-wide enterprise authorization service that would handle access controls for applications and services across campus is currently under consideration. It would replace AdCom's SAMS (Security Access Maintenance System) application and other homegrown solutions that various departments on campus use internally into a central, scalable, and extensible campus-wide service. Currently there is a working group formed to discuss requirements, develop proof-of-concepts, evaluate vendor and open source solutions.
