Please keep in mind this page is is for Thunderbird pilot testers so any problems experienced/input is appreciated. All steps below are safe and reversible. As long as you don't purposely delete your the Mail folder inside of your "My Documents" folder (x:\mail or d:\mail), you should not have to worry about losing any old mail. Once thunderbird has converted your mail and address books correctly, we can go ahead and delete the old mail folder at a later date. As in the past, Thunderbird will be set up to view your UCI e-mail only. (No personal e-mail accounts are supported)
Update from 7/15/2008:
- Eudora Filters do not convert over to Thunderbird. If you have any e-mail filters set up, you will need to re-create them after Thunderbird is set up.
- With NACS' server there is a different website to set up your vacation message...
Prerequisites:
- Adcom's custom Thunderbird package should already be installed on your machine. If you do not see a Thunderbird icon on your desktop, please put in a request to Adcom Desktop Support to have the "Thunderbird package" installed on your system.
- You must have a folder in your "My Documents" folder called "thunderbird_profile" (See Step 1 below)
- You will need approximately 30 minutes - 1 hour of your time to convert your old Eudora mail to thunderbird. (Less so if you don't have a lot of e-mail stored)
- Thunderbird will convert your old Eudora Mail, and Eudora Address Book. Unfortunately at this time Thunderbird will not convert previously set Eudora Filters.
